Why do I wait so long to ask for your prayers?

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your prayers, they are working. Why do I wait so long to post and ask you all to pray, when I know the power you all have in your prayers?? Luke is doing so much better he is sounding better, breathing better, has not thrown up today, seems more alert and is on his second day of no extra oxygen at night. PRAISE GOD!

I also want to thank you for praying for Amy, I can not even begin to tell you the peace I've had since saying good-bye to her at the airport. I know without a shadow of doubt she is exactly where she needs to be right now. It is so wonderful to have the peace of God at times like this.

I know that I've said this many times in the past, but without a huge miracle of God today was our wonderful nurse, Mary's last day. Our insurance company has decided that we no longer need a nurse because Luke doesn't have to be suctioned very often anymore. We are really going to miss her as she did take some of the burden off my shoulders as she helped with Luke's massaging, feedings and just watching him while I was able to get some other things accomplished. We are praying that God will direct our path in whether we should try to hire someone to help out a couple of days a week, we would appreciate it if you would be praying that God will show us exactly what to do in this matter.

Once again I am requesting prayer for little Brett Jr., his parents are going to court today to deal with the Dr.'s at the Hospital wanting them to take Brett Jr. out of the Hospital. They are saying that he is hopelessly brain dead, I remember being told this about Luke and look at what God has done. Just be praying that the parents, Brett and Yvonne will have the favor of God upon them. To read more about this you can go to his site
http://web.mac.com/brettjr/iWeb/Pray%20for%20Brett%20Jr/Welcome.html. Also little Candace Joy is having her 14th major surgery today in the past month, as the Dr.'s are trying to get rid of all the infection in her body, to read more her site is http://www.candacejoy.org/. I could go on and on with more prayer requests as it seems that so there is so much need right now, but I will only share one more, my very close friend Barb Jacobs, brother Steve was in a major car accident yesterday afternoon, he needs a lot of prayer they are still not sure if he has any brain damage, he also has a broken leg and will need major surgery on his eye to repair the damage around it.

My scripture for the day is Isaiah 64:4 No ear has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides you, who acts on behalf of those who wait for him. I feel once again God is telling me "Sue just be patient and don't give up, wait for me, I have not forgotten you, I am not a God that lies. I have told you I am healing Luke and I am." I really needed this encouragement from the Lord as I mentioned in my last post I have become weary in waiting, but I feel better today and more refreshed and I know it is because you are all helping me by carrying this burden with me. THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!!

Love in Christ,
Luke's Mommy Sue

Sue, Thanks for letting us know that things are going better. It is such a help when you let us know how you need us to pray! We will keep praying. We have been excited as we have prayed for Amy. I know that there are going to many people touched by God through her. Blessings in his name, Shane, Julie and Children.

Matthew 11:28-30 "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Dear Sue,
God really impressed these scriptures on my heart for you. I am praying for His peace for you in regards to Luke, his health, the situation with the nursing, and Amy's mission trip (which He has already given you wonderful peace about). I am also praying that you feel Him "give you rest," as the verse promises. I am so glad to hear Luke is doing better, what an answer to prayer. May God bless you and your family.
Love and blessings,
Catherine and family

Sue - Hugs to you. I am so thankful that Luke is doing better. I understand why you don't always share, because it seems like such a long time of these needs being met, and you think others are going to think "not again" (at least that's the way I feel) and then it gets to a desperate point, and you need to be picked up again. I understand my friend. I am thankful too, that it is going well with your daughter. I cannot imagine after all you have been through in "letting" your daughter go. God's given you a lot of grace there. Keep writing and updating us on Luke and your family.

Love, Loni

"Praise ye the Lord. O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever."

Psalm 106:1

I am praying for you, Sue, and for Luke and your entire family during this time of trial.

I care full-time for my aged mother (87) and wanted to suggest to you that perhaps it would help to talk to a social worker about the various types of governmental agencies and monies that can be obtained for help with Luke's care. We went through the same thing with my mother. Medicare and her supplemental insurance would only cover so much... and for a small amt. of time. But once I checked into things further, we found out that there are a lot of agencies and governmental monies available for the asking, to those in need of extra help. You could start by calling your hospital and asking to speak to a social worker there or perhaps even call your county's Medicaid office. They might be able to give you leads too, on where to go from here.

I am a retired R.N. If I lived close, I surely would help you. That's another option too... asking for volunteers to help. I know it's hard to cry out in need sometimes, as you mentioned in your latest blog entry. But if you don't ask for help, then others won't be given the privledge of doing God's work here on earth by helping you.

(((((((())))))))

God bless you, dear sister in Christ.

So much to pray for! Sometimes it seems it's too much for us to even think about, but it's not too much for God. He is bigger than all the world's many difficulties.

Lifting up all these situations that He may reign supreme and be glorified in each and every one of them.

Praying for you, Sue. That you may abide in his infinite peace. That your positive outlook and your concern for others may be blessed. That little Luke will continue to improve. Rapidly.

God bless you, Sue.

I have commanded my angels to guard over you in all your ways. They will lift you up today in their hands, so you will not strike your foot against the stone.
(Ps 91:11-12)

Be encouraged, my daughter. I walk close beside you. I am here to bind up all your wounds and heal your spirit. (Ps 34:18)

I so love you.

Oh Sue,

You have been through much. Thank you for your example of faithfulness, steadfastness and hopefulness. Even though you exemplify the following verse, may you be encouraged to run the race with even more exuberance and strength, knowing that the Lord has a plan and purpose higher than our understanding.

Rom 5:3-4
Moreover [let us also be full of joy now!] let us exult and triumph in our troubles and rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that pressure and affliction and hardship produce patient and unswerving endurance. And endurance (fortitude) develops maturity of character (approved faith and tried integrity). And character [of this sort] produces [the habit of] joyful and confident hope of eternal salvation.

Praying for you today.

Praying for you, Sue.

He giveth more grace when the burdens grow greater,
He sendeth more strength when the labors increase.
To added affliction He addeth His mercy,
To multiplied trials, His multiplied peace.
When we have exhausted our store of endurance,
When our strength has failed ‘ere the day is half done;
When we reach the end of our hoarded resources,
Our Father’s full giving is only begun.
His love has no limit, His grace has no measure,
His power no boundary known unto men.
For out of His infinite riches in Jesus
He giveth and giveth and giveth again.

Sue,

I pray that the Lord gives you wisdom to handle the many decisions that you face each day. I pray that He gives you joy to strengthen your spirit and be the momma and wife that you desire to be. Though our trials seem insurmountable our God is able to do all things. Nothing is impossible for the Lord. I pray that Luke and all your children become complete in Christ and walk in HIS ways.
