This Blog is for the purpose of keeping family, friends and prayer warriors informed on the status of our son Luke. It is a journal of the Searles family journey after the drowning accident of their 17 month old son Luke, who drowned in their back yard pool on August 30, 2004. He was dead for at least 40 minutes before God brought him back to life. Please continue to join with us in prayer for the complete restoration of his brain and body.

IT'S OUT!!!!!!
Luke has finally got his trach out!!!!!!! The doctors are guardedly optimitic about his keeping the trach out. Luke will spend the night in the hospital for observation. Please pray that he will adjust to having his trach out and breath well. If all goes well he will go home tommorrow leaving the trach behind.

Dear Gordy, Sue & family~ we are indeed praying that the trach will be left behind! Praying for all of you... you are so very special to us. God is working miracles in Luke's life.. in HIS time and we are the witnesses of this! PTL PTL PTL~ I have thought/prayed for all of you throughout the day yesterday... today and even on Sunday. A song that keeps coming to mind is a song we heard sung in a church we visited while in Florida this weekend.. and then yesterday on the way home it came on the radio with a story about a little baby girl that was in the hospital and her mother was asking for prayer... it is called "you raised me up"... I immediately thought of Luke and Mandi and I started crying... I started praying for him right then in the van as we were driving! We love all of you!
your Georgial friends,

Love you little Luke!!
Can't wait to see you again, and the family. How are you mom, dad and family? We've been praying all night and day for this proceedure. Glad to hear it is finally out, and we'll pray that it gets to stay out!

Thank you Lord for watching over little Luke. One more step. We ask, oh Lord, for a complete and speedy recovery. This little guy has got things to do for YOU. You named his days and his activities. What a blessing he is to his family. Thank You Lord for ALL that You have done. Amen
Rita
