God is good all the time and All the time, God is good!

God is good all the time and all the time God is good. We went to a wonderful church a couple of years ago and our pastor would say to the crowd “God is good” and we in the congregation would say back “all the time,” then he would say “and all the time” and we would say “God is good.” This week God has once again showing us that He truly is good all the time, it has been an exciting week in Luke’s life.

We went to the Dr. on Tuesday and his lungs are sounding better and he had gained 10 ounces, which is a huge deal. He is finally doing better about keeping his oxygen levels up, on Monday he was at a 100 %, I can’t remember the last time he was at 100, let alone in the high 90’s. Then as we were leaving the Dr.’s office I took him by the cool fish tank to look at the fish and he actually looked at the fish and turned his head to follow one of them.

On Sunday morning Natalie came back to our room all excited to let us know that Luke actually picked his head up off the floor and used his arms to do it. This is a big deal since we have not seen him do this since the accident happened and then today I took him to have massage therapy and while the therapist was going up and down his back he picked up his head at least 6 or 7 times. To say that I was excited is putting it mildly. Another exciting thing that happened on Sunday evening was that Amy came up to Luke and said “BOO” in his face, she used to do this before the accident and he would laugh at her, so we were very excited when he seemed to respond with a startle at the “BOO,” one more new thing that we haven’t seen in a long time.

I’ll be honest with you once again and tell you that I was feeling pretty discouraged and tired this last month, I guess you could say that I was losing my hope and faith in believing that Luke would be healed. But as I said at the beginning God is good all the time, just in time he sent a scripture my way to remind me that it is God that fills me with His hope, joy and peace. Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. I have to keep going back to a lesson I learned long ago about trusting in God. There are times that I hear a small whisper in my head say “Do you trust me, Sue?” and I know it God’s way of saying that He is control of the situation at hand and if I continue to fully trust in Him for EVERYTHING, He is faithful and will take care of whatever it is that I need to trust Him for.

My prayer for you today is that you will feel his joy and peace and be filled full to overflowing with God’s hope for whatever need you have today. Please continue to pray for Luke to keep his lungs clear and to get completely healed of this infection that he has been battling since getting his trach out. Thank you for your continued prayers they always make a huge difference!

Love in Christ,
Luke’s Mommy Sue

P.S. I know a few of you have asked how Daniel’s mission trip went to Scotland, well it went great and they were able minister to over 2,000 kids while they were there. Also just to let you know that Luke and Lily are doing great in sharing a room, she’s only woke him up a few times and Luke so enjoys hearing her coo and make precious noises.

Sue,
What a huge praise! What a great way to wake up in the morning, check the blog and read your awesome praise report of the work of our awesome God!! I woke up this morning with the chorus of the song; He gives and takes away: Lord blessed be your name! How exciting then to come out here moments later and to read of how HE has given Luke major healing from the pneumonia; truly major weight gain; and the strength and function to begin lifting his head and responding more! BLessed be His name! We haven't gotten to talk lately so I thought I'd blog! I love you and your precious family! Keep pressin' on and may the joy of the Lord be your strength thru all the ups and the downs. Love, Mary p.s. Thanks for mentioning Daniel's trip I'm sure many others as well as us have been wondering how that went.

What good news! I can identify with the joy at seeing those baby steps happen.
Could I ask you where you live in Washington? I don't know if you'd be interested or not,but I would like to have my daughter connect with someone out there. She so badly needs the support and encouragement only someone walking in her shoes can give.
Prayers and Blessings to you and little Luke.

I want to Thank you Sue for sharing Luke's story. Every time I need a sign that God is around, I come to this blog and I SEE that God is here. Luke's story is helping me connect with my faith again. I am in awe of your faith and I wish I had half of it. I pray often for Luke and his healing. It's so wonderful to see that God is healing Luke. Thanks again for sharing.

Sue,

My heart went out to you in your last blog and I have been praying for Luke's body to completely adjust from having the trach taken out. I also have been praying that God will comfort you and that you will have great things to rejoice about. I knew that it would only be a matter of time that we would here of new miracles in Luke's life! Yes, God is soooo Good! Thanks so much for your honesty and updating us on Luke's progress. Have a great weekend!

Love,
Colleen and Family

Oh, Thank you Sue for sharing! I am so thrilled/happy for the great things God is doing in Luke's life.
Way to go, Luke!!! PRAISE PRAISE PRAISE JESUS~ for HE is able to do above all that we ask!!!

Today I saw a great friend whose home burned in March and she said to me "God is good, all the time, and all the time God is good!"

Sue, in my life God is showing me so many things.... and if I will JUST TOTALLY trust HIM~ your testimony presses on my heart and the testimony of my friend and of Loni~ GOD IS GOOD~ even when we do not understand.

Luke, you are so very special to us. We all KNOW your name around here~ BUT God knows your name too!
Just like that song says... even before time began... YOU knew my name... HE LOVES YOU and you are going to be a mighty man for JESUS one day with a MIGHTY testimony!

I know your mom (and probably whole family) calls you Lukie, and we call our Wesley~ Wessie! He even sees your picture on the computer and says "WUKE" ....

we love all of you~

Gordy & Sue and of course my little buddy Luke!....My church in Sisters, Oregon used to begin every worship with...GOD IS GREAT ALL THE TIME...ALL THE TIME GOD IS GREAT...Love it. How we all need to truly know this. ALL THE TIME is forever! How great is our God. Thank you for the passage in Romans and Job. My niece has a very rare cancer and I think the doctors are basically saying...well we could do this and this but....Enter God! The scripture you gave me is just what I needed to hear and I know Joey will praise it also when I go visit her Tuesday. Our prayers are for a complete healing. Nothing is impossible with Him as we all know...gosh look at Luke. He will be sitting in my apple tree in no time! Thanking you for your love of Jesus and for all your most wonderful words of encouragement and praise. Hey Luke...I have a 10 goldfish and one big Koi...you can come play with them anytime.... ;o)

I am loving and praying....
