Faith is not a sense, nor sight, nor reason, but simply taking God at His word.

Luke is sick! I kept praying that he would not catch what Lily or Daniel had last week, but alas it seems he has indeed caught their sickness. Last night I was up late filling out forms for the insurance claims for the accident I was in last month. It's unbelievable all the information they want when you have a medical claim. I had to give them an account of every medical visit I've had for the last 5 years. Needless to say I heard Luke start alarming, he was getting real congested and breathing very hard. His heart rate was going up slowly and his oxygen levels were coming down. I ended up trying to get a few minutes of sleep on his floor as I knew I would be in his room all night anyway.

It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is Thy faithfulness Lamentations 3:22-23

Today he has been running very high fever, his heart rate has been in the 180's to 190's, his oxygen levels have not been horrible he is only on 1/2 liter of oxygen right now. Would you please stop whatever you are doing right now and send up a prayer for him to get better? I am praying like crazy it doesn't last like Lily's sickness did for 4 days of fever and coughing. I was getting ready to take her into Urgent Care on Sunday when her fever finally broke.

Hear me speedily, O Lord: my spirit faileth: hide not Thy face from me, lest I be like unto them that go down into the pit. Cause me to hear Thy lovingkindness in the morning: for in Thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto Thee. Psalm 143:7-8

I'm not surprised that this sickness is happening in our home. Don't you know when I announced that this would be a year full of miracles the battle would begin. Of course I'm not expecting hard times or hoping for them but, nothing wonderful in this life ever comes easy. I will not be defeated, I will continue to pray for miracles. I will continue to pray this is the year that Luke will be completely healed. I will continue to pray for Madeline, Josiah, Lauren, Parker, Izzy, Abbie, Brett Jr., Corbin, Caleb, Justine, Madison, Sadie Belle, Nolan, Melissa, Collin, Samuel, Tori, just to name a few who desperately need a miracle.

The beginning of anxiety is the end of faith, and the beginning of true faith is the end of anxiety. George Mueller

You will never learn faith in comfortable surroundings. God gives us His promises in a quiet hour, seals our covenants with great and gracious words, and then steps back, waiting to see how much we believe. He then allows the Tempter to come, and the ensuing test seems to contradict all that He has spoken. This is when faith wins its crown. This is the time to look up through the storm, and among the trembling, frightened sailors declare, "I have faith in God that it will happen just as He told me" Acts 27:25

Said a prayer for Luke today as I read your blog. I don't get on the internet much these days but was thinking about you and checked your blog. May God bless you with strength and rest, and bless Luke with healing. Our God is good!
