Pray for sleep

Since we came home from the hospital almost 3 weeks ago, Luke has been inconsistent in his sleep patterns. Sometimes he will sleep a few hours at night and other times he will sleep more. On the nights that he doesnt sleep much, We dont sleep as much, in particular Sue. Sue seems to be one of the only ones that can consistently calm him down. Please pray that he will get on to a regular schedule of sleep 10pm to 7am would be awesome.

I have talked with many people who are following Luke's story via the blog. Many have said they had not figured out how to create an account so they could post comments. I have decided to try allowing anonymous comments again so there could be a broader group of contributors. I would ask that when you do post under anonymous that you sign it at the end. Thank you for all of the comments, they mean alot to Sue and I and the kids.

Hi! I just wanted to let you know that the Chapel Community here in Kuwait is continuing to pray for Luke and you all. I have been delighted this week to read of his progress and have passed on the news.

Gordy, Sue and family,

I read all the words to the songs posted by you and commenters; How uplighting! Thank you for your faith choices! We pray for wisdom for each of you, especially Sue, as you all lean on God's wisdom to balance the various family needs, and Luke's needs, your own rest, and other things you do.

And I praise God for the swallowing! I pray for sleeping at night, and comfort deep within little Lukey's heart. Thanks for your response to my question about how he seems to be feeling. Love you all!

hi,

I came across Luke's story using the 'next blog' function about a month ago. I check daily to read the progress that young Luke has made. He's in my thoughts everyday!

Hi, before we get too far away from talking about songs and lyrics, I thought I'd share an experience I had a couple of weeks ago. I woke up in the morning before my alarm went off. As I am now in the habit of doing, I began praying for Luke. During the middle of my prayer for him my clock radio alarm which was set to the Christian radio station went off. The song that was playing was the one that goes

Holy, Holy,
are you Lord God Almighty
Worthy is the Lamb
Worthy is the Lamb
You are Holy, Holy

I'm not sure who sings it, it sounds like it could be Michael W. Smith but it's a beautiful and very powerful song. Anyway, as it came on in the middle of my prayers for Luke it was just so powerful so I decided that from now on whenever I heard that song I would just pray for Luke right then and there. Well, I have heard it so many times since then, there have been a couple of distinct times when it has come on right when I am already thinking or praying about Luke. It's very powerful to be able to appeal to the Lord in the midst of such a powerful worship song.

So, just another way that God is using and speaking to people all over the world about your precious little son.

Wow, it is awesome to know that you and Sue are blessed by the posts. So many are praying... I too, called others and asked about the Matt Redman song... called my son at college and asked him. Updated him on Luke and said that you had mentioned this on the blog. I LOVE the song "Amazing Love".... have you heard of that song? It is by NEWSBOYS

I'm forgiven, because You were forsaken
I'm accepted, You were condemned
And I'm alive and well Your spirit is within me
because You died and rose again

Amazing Love how can it be...
that You my King would die for me
Amazing Love I know its true
and its my joy to honor You in all I do
Let me honor You

this song means so much to me.... you and your family mean so much to us and we are praying for you and everyone asks "How's Luke".
Please tell Sue I am praying extra for Luke to sleep! It is so hard to do all we have to do without much sleep. I understand why SHE is the one who calms him the most!! The word is MAMA.

we love all of you,

Our daughter, Margaret, has been waking several times a night for the past week or so. Instead of feeling tired and annoyed each time, the Lord has prompted me to pray for Luke and your family. Now we are praying for you day and NIGHT. :) Your faith is a blessing and encouragement to us!

I am amazed at how God prompts us to pray for others. Thank you for praying "Day and Night".

Luke slept for about 4 hours last night and just fell asleep again. Please pray God will help us see if there is something in the way we are caring for Luke that is causing his lack of sleep. We have given him a warm bath each night for the past few nights and this does seem to help relax him.
