Lot's of Birthday's and good stuff to report

Thank you for your responses to our question in regard to our trip across America. As you continue to think of more places, feel free to continue to add them to our list.

Our family once again had a very busy week. Saturday we celebrated Natalie's 16th Birthday, it's so hard to believe she's 16, it seems that she was just a baby yesterday. On Sunday after church we celebrated my Dad's 75th Birthday, the Lord has blessed him with great health and amazing vitality. Then on Monday night we celebrated Gordy's Birthday, needless to say we had a lot of company over the weekend. Luke so enjoys having company here, he just sits with us in the living room and enjoys all the talking and laughing going on. Luke's Birthday is on March 10th, I am so thankful that God chose to bring Luke back to life so that he could have many years of Birthday's to come.

Luke has had a good week until today. He had 3 HBOT sessions, Gordy took him on Monday since he had the day off, then I took him on Tuesday and Gordy and I went again on Thursday night. On Wednesday he got his new leg splints, we are hoping that the splints will help to get a bend back into his knees. It was interesting that when they were put on for the final fitting, he actually groaned letting us know that he was not liking them put on. While it is so hard as a mom to have things done to your child that you know they don't like, in the end we praying that it will truly help him and make him feel better. It was also great seeing him display emotion again, though it was sad to hear him groan. He went to PT after getting the splints and once again did a great job there. He was reaching for the toy in front of him as he was asked to and he also did a awesome job of keeping his head up while being bounced on a ball.

Today was a hard day for Luke. Last night when we got home from the HBOT session we noticed that Luke's oxygen level was low and as the night continued on we had to keep oxygen going on him and his heart rate was soaring very high to very low. We knew he was not feeling well and then we found out he had a temperature, so once again we had to make a Dr.'s appt. He has a ear infection and he is already doing much better. His heart rate is once again down and we have not had to put him on oxygen at all so far tonight. God is touching him once again. I continue to believe and know in my heart that God is healing Luke, though at times I so wish that it could be completed today. I know that God is taking us down this road to a slow recovery and look forward each day to the new things that he is doing not only in Luke's life, but also in my own life as I have to go daily to Him to get my strength.

Thank you once again for your continued prayers. Things to keep in mind as you pray for Luke, we have his next pulmonologist appt. on March 8th, be praying that God keeps his lungs clear and that he continues to do great on his passy muir valve so that we can move on with the plans to get his trach out. Please continue to pray that God will touch Luke's legs and allow them to bend once again, his arms and hands are doing great and moving so much more during the day and at night they are now limp, this was not so before, so I know that God is moving in His body. Also pray that God will help me with my schedule as you can imagine some days are overwhelming with his appts, keeping up with the other children, staying on top of the daily chores that we have and getting enough sleep. I want to do all that I can for Luke to get better and it is hard finding a balance sometimes with all that we can be doing for him. You are all so wonderful and we continue to be amazed at your kindness and support to us. May God richly bless you today!

Love in Christ,
Luke's Mommy Sue

Well, Happy Birthday to everyone at your house.... to Natalie (our Mandi turned 16 on Jan. 23rd, you both are close in age!) and to Gordy.... and we are waiting anxiously for Luke's birthday! We have had birthdays here too... Mandi's in Jan. Wyatt's (3) in Feb. & Dakota will be 12 in March.

We will continue to pray... we so appreciate the reports and all. We will be praying for his appt on the 18th. We will pray more specifically for Luke's legs and the trach.

Sue, have you or Gordy ever read the book called "Crying Out"? It is by Bill Gothard. We do not do the ATI ... we have been to the basic seminar but this is a small book... our old pastors wife (great titus2 woman) was telling us about it yesterday. Also I have a copy... I have only glanced through it. I could send it to you. I know you do not have much time for reading... me either but sometimes I read here and there.. or at doctors appts.

We think of you daily and lift you up to the Father. I am praying for YOU too as you strive to serve your family...

we love all of you,
your GA friends,
Billy, Teena, Michael, Mandi, Dakota, Alyssa, Wyatt & Wesley

Hi Teena,

We do have the book "Crying Out!". It has been a while since I read it, maybe it is time to reread it.

Hi Sue and Gordy! We have lots of birthdays in March as well. Rick's is this Friday (remember when I had his 30th in our first house that we purchased?) and Sean's 16th is on the 19th. Then there are other family members as well that have March birthdays. Stephanie, Darla's daughter, turns 23 this month. Hard to believe!

So thrilled to hear the progress with Luke. Just that much closer to his healing! Looking forward to a good report from the pulmonologist - we're praying fervently. I have people asking me all the time how Luke is doing. So many people praying that he will only meet when we all get to heaven. How wonderful to be a part of the family of God!! Prayer DOES change things. Hallelujah!

Praying for a good week for you, Luke. Love,

So glad to hear Luke is doing good. Happy birthday to all in your family. Little Katy turned 1 year old on Feb. 25. We've been offline for a few months due to computer problems. But, we have a new computer now. Luke has been in our prayers even though we haven't been around to let you know.

God Bless,

Sherry, Katy, and the rest of the family

We are thinking of all of you and just wanted to say hi. Still praying and send our love.

May God give you HIS strength for today and continue to work miracles in Luke's life!

Hello Searles, I hope you all are having a good weekend. Shane took all but one of the children to the movies so I have some time to catch on things that have been on my heart and mind. Your family has so been on my heart. Shane and I went out last night and were talking about some events that have been going on in our life. I was crying and telling Shane that you guys (because of Little Luke) have drawn my heart so close to Jesus. I know that does not make much since but I felt like you all need to know that I have been changed because of you. I pray for Luke so often but God also on different days will speak to my heart to pray for each one of you for one reason or another. I hope I will be able to talk to each one of you one day and let you know how much you mean to me and my Jesus....he loves all of us so much! Again, my pray for you today is to have a great day and feel Jesus with you at all times!

Blessings, Julie

Help me Dude, I think I'm lost..... I was searching for Elvis and somehow ended up in your blog, but you know I'm sure I saw him in a car lot yesterday, which is really strange because the last time I saw him was in the supermarket. No honest really, he was right there in front of me, next to the steaks singing "Love me Tender". He said to me (his lip was only slightly curled) "Boy, you need to get yourself a San Diego cosmetic surgery doctor ,to fit into those blue suede shoes of yours. But Elvis said in the Ghetto nobody can afford a San Diego plastic surgery doctor. Dude I'm All Shook Up said Elvis. I think I'll have me another cheeseburger. Then I'm gonna go round and see Michael Jackson and we're gonna watch a waaaay cool make-over show featuring some Tijuana dentists on the TV in the back of my Hummer. And then he just walked out of the supermarket singing. . . "You give me love and consolation,
You give me strength to carry on " Strange day or what? :-)
