Continue to pray

I want to give you an update on Luke. Luke's Mom Sue held Luke most of the night last night in a rocking chair and just poured out the love and prayers that only a mother can provide. Sue went to the apartment and is resting right now, pray that she will get some much needed deep restful sleep.

Luke's temprature is normal, this is good, as a fever would be an indication of pneumonia. There is a great deal of fluid still building in the throat and nasal passages. Luke still needs to cough and swallow. He coughs some and it helps, but he needs to cough more and then swallow to get rid of the secretions.

I appreciate each and every one of you that has agreed to fast and pray for Luke this day. He is a fighter and at this moment, he is hanging in there strong. I dont know where we will be at the end of this day, and I will most likely be coming again to ask for more prayer for Luke. This I do know, we serve the one true God that created this universe, he is the same yesterday, today and forevermore. My faith in God and His love for me is more stronger now then it ever has been.

By the way, I just want to say Hi to a 5th grade class in Highland, CA that heard about Luke and are following on the web. As Luke's Dad, I want to say Thank You for caring about little Luke and I hope and pray that some day you will get a chance to meet the little boy that has changed us all.

We know that in the midst of any storm there will come strong waves; ups and downs. We also know that when the Master is in the boat He calms the winds and the waves with a simple word. Praise God for His word and for the fact that although Luke faces ups and downs; the Master is in the boat calming the storms and our fears with a simple, "peace, be still."
We will continue to hold you and Sue's arms up, like Aaron and Hur in the midst of this battle through prayer and fasting. We take comfort because this battle truly is the Lord's.
As mere mortals we can get disheartened by the "bad reports" but we are not to be surprised by the tactics of our enemy. He sees how God is using this horrid situation, and tries to counter-attack with fearful reports. We continue to have faith: "the substance of things hoped for; the evidence of things not seen." Faith in our God who shall do valiantly....

Last night, my 18 month old was coughing in his sleep and I thought "That's right Max, show Luke how to cough!" Gordon, I'm praying for Luke every way I know how. He's come so far in just one short week, but I can imagine that it feels like a decade for you and Sue. Stay strong, Lisa D.

Precious Brother in Christ, as tears flow down my face I can picture your sweet wife loving on her boy all night. I watched my precious sister hold her boy in the hospital after a drowning and words cannot express the sorrow............As I fast and pray God has shown me so many sweet things about Him in His word this morning...I am convinced of one thing. Although the medical reports say that Luke's situation is "impossible," it is not impossible for God; EVERYTHING is possible for God (Mark 10:27).

Medical science offers no hope, but our hope is in the LORD who made the heavens and the earth with the power of His VOICE. The centurian recognized the authority and command of that Voice: "But say the word, and my servant will be healed." Psalm 107:20 says, "He sent His word and healed them".

I'm joining with you in fasting and prayer today. It's almost 10:00AM, so I'd better sign off so I can join the "top of the hour" prayer team.

Luke say's hi Grandpa. I replied by telling him that I love him and am praying for him.

Last night while reading all the comments, my family in Jesus Christ, were sending from around the world, I read of all hunting and needs they had and still praying for my grandson Luke. I started crying out in praise to God, then while praying I had a feeling from God that HE knows of all the needs and healing you all need. I asked what I could do and I felted to pray for all of you. I prayed that evryone of you and all your family hurts, relationship and personal needs will be touch by God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit will touch you. My God is every were and I believe He wants to do more than we are willing to ask Him to do.

I know that God loves all of us, HE tells us so (John 3:16).

There is so much more I could say so I'll just say that I and Grandma Miller love you. I will close how and pray first for Luke than for you all.

Just a quick note to tell you that I submitted a request for prayer on the Brooklyn Tabernacle web site. As you may know, they have a 24-hour "Prayer Band," and the church holds a standing-room-only prayer meeting every Tuesday night. As a response to my submission, the website returned the following note, which I am including in its entirety, for your encouragement:

Our computer has been down for a few days so our friend calls us and read us the updates. Thank you for your calls as it of course helps us know specifically what to pray forand how you are doing. How precious to see Luke's little picture with his Teddy and no breathing tube! We are agreeing with you in fasting and prayer for our Gracious Heavenly Father to do a Mighty Healing in Luke's body!
What a beautiful thing to be a part of the body of Christ. I have walked with Him for 17 years and have often been amazed at the love of Jesus extended to us among the family of believers in times of need but I have NEVER seen the love of Jesus poured out to this extent: ie. around the world. I think of that song How beautiful is the body of Christ. I know our phone rings off the hook of loved ones calling to pray together or find out about Luke and it just amazes me how much people care- That is Christ at work as he says his people have the mind of Christ= which gives people that kind of compassion and burden bearing even for people they have never met. We love you and look forward to praise reports of God's touch on Luke.
Isaiah 58: Is this not the fast that I have chosen:
.... to share your bread with the hungry, And that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out: When you see the naked, that you cover him ... (your family has been so obedient to the Lord in fulfilling all these things as you are constantly reaching out and ministering to others) Then your light shall break forth like the morning, your healing shall spring forth speedily and your righteousness shall go before you and The glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.

I wish I did not know what your family is experiencing now, but our family has walked the halls you find yourselves today. It brings tears to me now while praying for Luke and his family for the healing, strength, love, comfort, and medical knowledge of the team caring for Luke that God gives freely.

Celebrate Luke's life and continue to hear the lessons even in these hardest of times. Every child is a miricle every moment of their lives. I pray for Luke's recovery and for strength and comfort for his Mom and Dad and all those so close and dear to Luke.

This message is to Papa Miller, Lukes Grandpa. We love you and are praying for you. I will never forget the sadness my parents went through with the loss of my precious nephew, their grandson.(May 2003) They not only had their own loss but suffered watching their daughter, son in law and grandchildren as well. My heart breaks for all of your big family. For the Grandparents, Aunties, Uncles and cousins involved. May God hold all of you. May He give you an extra blessing and filling of the Holy Spirit as He equips you to help support the Searles family. I think this blog has been an amazing testimony of your faith and it is awesome how God has used even this situation to touch many lives. I just want to leave you with one of my favorite verses that has helped me in times of need.

Ever since I found out about what happened, I have been praying for you. Even though I didn't know your name I figured that God knew who you were.

We don't know or understand God's ways or timing on things, we can take comfort in his word.
Romans 8:28
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

God, I pray for healing on baby Luke. He's got a destiny bigger then anyone could imagine, Father. Last night as I prayed for Luke and your family....all that I kept thinking and praying was that you (Sue) could HOLD Luke and rock him so he could feel his MOMMYS loving arms....and that you would be able to pour out the love and prayers that only a mommy can...just Like Gordy has reported to us that you were able to do ...God is awesome ......God has amazingly bonded us all together through prayer....and today as we continue to fast and pray for Luke God is going to do incredible things.

I applaud you for taking time to do this when there is so much more going on that requires your attention. Since hearing of Luke's accident I have accessed the blog several time both day and night looking for updates. I have to admit I enjoy reading all of the comments, the well wishes and the stories people have been sharing. Please know I have been praying for Luke and the entire family and will continue to do.
I have personally seen and felt God's love and know his amazing healing powers which is why I know he is there with you and will continue to watch over your little angle known as Luke.

God is awesome. I seem to be praying 24/7. I have never felt more in touch with God than I do now. Every time I wake I am praying. Worship songs are always in my mind and heart. Luke is a miracle, because God used him to touch my heart. I don't think there are words to express my heart for you all. God has mended my heart and allowed me to be free to love. I can't tell you enough, or often enough how much I love you all. You know my prayers are with you, and I am rejoicing in God's love for you. God, you know my heart for these loved ones. I ask that you show them more love, more blessings, more strength, and more rest. Fill their hearts with peace. Let all those that are praying be a blessing to them as they have been a blessing to all of us. God please take care of Luke. He is your angel, and he has ministered to so many. We thank you for him. I don't know if this means much, but ever since last Tuesday, when I am praying for Luke the song "Jesus loves me" keeps going through my head! Every single time! Because when God's children are weak The Lord is STRONG!Our God is such an awesome God and is with you all and Luke every day, every hour, every minute, every second!!!! He is ALWAYS there. He cannot leave you because he can't! He loves you all SO desperatly to leave! I know it pains Him to see Luke like that, but I believe he's saying "Just wait, just wait! I, too, as I was praying late last eve saw Sue holding Baby Luke, rocking, stroking and singing to him. There is nothing more special than a mother's touch, unless, of course, it is the most wonderful touch from our Lord. And, we all know he is touching Luke, all of you and all of us who are sharing this with you. Yes, we are sharing your burdon in so many ways, hoping to lighten your load just a bit. I don't know all the words to this song....but...THE BATTLE BELONGS TO THE LORD. And we are so thankful he is battle for Luke. Thank you Jesus for your mercies, comfort and almighty love. As with everyone who lives at this blog waiting eagerly for the latest update, our hearts ache and our minds are consumed with thoughts and prayers for Luke. This really hits home for those of us who have little ones at home. I can't stop thinking about my own inability to carry myself through something like this without divine intervention. You guys are an awesome example for the rest of us to follow. We pray that God continues to pour out His peace upon you and that we begin to see the start of Luke's complete restoration soon.

I learned of Little Luke's difficulties from my son Chuck, in Oregon. I know a little girl who went through this and came out well. I'm saying constant prayers for Luke & all of you. God WILL hear all of our prayers.

I want to share something I read today on a blog called Buried Tresure. I posted a link to your blog in the comments and Carmon replied that their family will be praying for Luke. They have 9 kids :)

It is about perspective. You can go there and read it, its a little long to post here but it goes along with the scripture that my wife Jenni posted above.

Your family is constantly on my mind and in my prayers as our family went through a very similar situation with my mother just this May while I was in my 7th month of pregnancy. We prayed and fasted while yielding Mama to His will. This did not turn the hand of the Lord, but rather turned our hearts to Him in acceptance of His will. God did not choose to send Mama back to us, but we are sincerely praying that your Luke will be restored to you in perfect health with a testimony that will draw many to salvation.

We are praying daily and calling others around our area, Spokane and Boise, ID and Hillsboro, OR and more. Many people and Churches are behind you all the way! We believe God can truly Restore Luke, completely. And we are so blessed by the mighty things He has already done through this situation. We know God has great things planned for this little man!

Luke's Parents, Family, Friends, & Brothers & Sisters in Christ,

I have personally witnessed God's Miracles in my life. My youngest son, who was born 3 months premature at just 24 weeks justation; was given no chance for survival. I have no doubt that it is the prayers of the many that moved our Lord to reach out his hand and touch my little Jereme (he weighed 1.12 lbs. My little boy not only survived but he thrived and he touched many lives with the love of Jesus before returning home to be with the Lord at age 12 in Sept. 2002.
I am eternally grateful to the Lord for those 12 precious years and to the faithful who were moved to pray and believe for a miracle on his behalf. We should never take for granted the power of prayer. So, to the precious family of little Luke, I stand with you as a sister in Christ believing for his miracle! I further believe that one that has come so close to returning home to be with the Lord, comes back to us with the faith and the ability to move many towards eternal salvation. This is my prayer for you! Please believe that it is God's desire to bring all things to his glory, and I believe he will bring this situation to his glory!
