This Blog is for the purpose of keeping family, friends and prayer warriors informed on the status of our son Luke. It is a journal of the Searles family journey after the drowning accident of their 17 month old son Luke, who drowned in their back yard pool on August 30, 2004. He was dead for at least 40 minutes before God brought him back to life. Please continue to join with us in prayer for the complete restoration of his brain and body.
I decided it was time for you to see the little boy you have been praying for. This picture was taken by Luke's cousin when he was eating in his high chair. Luke is 18 months old and this picture is very current. Luke is a happy go lucky full of energy little boy that is a blessing to his entire family.
Here is something I just received and would like to pass on. "If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it. " God didn't promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, or sun without rain, but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and a light for the way.
Thanks for posting a picture of Luke. We all appreciate the smiling face - and we know that it will only be days until he will be smiling a gain. (And of course the rest of us will be smiling right along with him).
Just Sunday I was telling Sue, "Luke has the best smile!" I pray that you will all be seeing it again soon. Our whole family is praying fervently for Luke and your whole family. Each time I pray I am reminded that although you see Luke as he is now, God sees what will be and His miracle is not yet complete.
I've been receiving updates every day and praying for Luke, but seeing his pictures today made it really hit home. What a sweet boy!! My heart goes out to you all, and I will pray more for God's grace for the family and full healing for Luke!! It is always such a joy to share with fellow believers, even to share the sorrow. It's great to think that one day we will all be in Heaven together, and we can talk about this time and see the whole picture. God's blessings to you!! In Christian love, Bonnie Dixon
Thankyou for the time and love you have put into keeping us informed through this site. I want you to know that there are brothers in the Netherlands keeping Luke and your family in prayer.
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
Everyone who is praying and see this. Luke CAT scan came back with extensive brain damage. The damage is in the area of the brain that controls the swollowing, coughing and to an extent the breathing. They have the option of a placement of a tracheotomy tube and a gastric tube to help him with this, but there is really not much more that they can do for him. They can also choose not to do this and let the miracle of God come forth and heal him in His time. Lukes dad (Gordy) and Pastor –Uncle Tom are in deep prayer right now as to what to do, so pray for wisdom.
