Odds and ends

Today we have a few odds and ends we are dealing with.

We have a person coming to look at the two car seats to see if either of them will work for Luke. If not, we will need to get a different one.

Later we will be interviewing nurses and I am sure that we will find a few that will fit nicely into our home.

This afternoon Sue has an ultrasound to check on the babys condition.

And we will continue our training with a video on CPR as well as continueing to perform trach care and suctioning.

Sunday was a quiet day with a few more people getting to hold Luke. I was hoping to publish a few pictures, but I forgot the cable to connect my camera at the hospital, I will publish them this evening.

So many little things to modify, huh? Now though, it's all those little things that count. Enjoy.

Hi Luke, You are a lucky boy. All that attention must feel great. What type of car seat would you like? One with a big wheel and a horn I bet. Later gator.

Gordon, Sue and family - I continue to keep all of you close in my thoughts, especially little Luke. Please realize that the person who made the inappropriate comment last week was just showing their ignorance to the whole situation. Had they known you, your family and what Luke has been thru in the past weeks - they would have never even thought such a thing, let alone publish it. Everyone I know at REI is continuing to hold ALL of the Searles family close in our thoughts and we wish a speedy recovery for Luke. Hang in there - you will find a home nurse that is a perfect fit for your family to assist in Luke's recovery process. If there is anything I can do, please feel free to contact me.

Things will prgress along well, ... the carseat, nurses , ect. I believe Luke will flourish so much more at home, you all will find a routine that works and soon be settled in, like I said before, life goes on, it's just different and adjusting easily and quickly to change is the best advise. God Bless!

I felt led to share this passage with you. Then when I went to look up where the scripture was located, I realized that it's in Luke 18:1-8 and that made me smile. It just seemed so appropriate to use something from Luke to encourage you even though I hadn't planned it to be this way. The gist of what I felt I needed to tell you is in verse 7:

now, will not God bring about justice for His elect who cry to Him day and night, and will He delay long over them? This is the story of the widow who kept asking for justice from the evil judge and she finally got justice. I almost felt like God was saying: I hear your prayers and I want you to know that I am never late. I will be there and everything will be done in my timing.
We can't wait to see you soon...
