Good Morning

Luke has had a good night and now its morning. The Dr has ordered to back down the medications to allow Luke to wake. He is still on a ventilator and they are hoping to remove it this afternoon. Once he is off the ventilator, then they can truly allow him to wake up without being agitated. Once he is awake then we will have a better understanding of his condition. Today we will keep all visitation to a minimum to limit the stimulus to Luke.

One of Luke's cousins came by this morning and she shared a song that God brought to her mind as she prayed for Luke, here is part of it.

"Breathe on me, breath of God
Immerse me in Your living stream
Awaken the song You've placed in my heart
Spirit breathe on .

Praise the Lord for the good reports!

As soon as we heard about Luke's accident, everything stopped and we prayed! I called our church prayerline (Sound Life Church), and also called my mother-in-law so that she could get her church (Hillcrest A/G, Bremerton) prayer warriors to pray. We also called our daughter (a youth pastor in California) to pray and request additional prayer on your behalf.

Our prayer has been, "Lord, restore Luke completely, so that it would be as though no accident ever occurred!"

Dear friends, God is still enthroned in power and majesty in the highest heavens. All authority in heaven and on earth has been given unto Jesus, and He can (and we believe, WILL) restore Luke to complete health, even as He did for ol' brother Lazarus!

He Who watches over Israel (and YOU) and Who never slumbers nor sleeps is keeping watch over Luke, you his parents and family, and over every attendant that works with Luke in that hospital. Be of good courage, friends--the Great Physician is the CHIEF Physician in Luke's room!

We'll keep praying! And we look forward to hugging your necks and rejoicing with you together as soon as we can.

We love you all.

Your friends,
Brent & Pauli

Good morning Gordy,
God is awesome, and a wonderful Father. I can see Him crading Luke, caring for him, loving him like no one else can. God is the comforter. He has you and your family wrapped in His caring arms.
I am keeping my co-workers informed and we are all continuing to pray.
How is the family doing?

Love to you and your family.

Gordy, thank you so much for keeping us updated. When i first heard about Luke, my heart just dropped. I haven't known you as long as some of the other people at church, but i consider you family just the same. My mom, Lawrence and I have all been praying often for Luke. I pray for his complete restoration. I look forward to seeing him playing in the nursery again with Jacob.

God is just so awesome with how much he has done already. I praise God for Luke's progress and will be praying that he continues to do well as his ventilator is removed today.

Many blessings on all of you!!

Luke is in God's hands, God is sovereign. As Luke's pediatrician, it is an obviously painful and tragic situation, but as a Christian I know that God has a purpose for everything, even though we do not understand what that purpose is. Luke's life is touching many all over the world. I pray God's healing hand to restore Luke, and uphold the entire family in His awesome love. Sometimes God wants us on our knees, praying and waiting upon Him.

Dear Gordy and Sue and kids, Sean was driving by your home on Monday eve just when the ambulance arrived and since that moment we have been praying, at the time having no knowledge of what happened and through mutual friends of our getting some pieces of the puzzle. We want you to know that Neighborhood Church is praying for your sons Full recovery and Sean and I and the kids believe that your beautiful son will walk out of that hospital. The miracles are just beginning and we will check your blog and continue to encourage you. We love you and will talk with you soon. Amy, Sean saw you on the porch crying that day, and I believe that the Lord spoke to me to pray for your spirit and peace. We love you.

Dear Luke and family,
Your prayer request was sent by a friend this morning. It is such an awesome thing to see all that God has already accomplished since Monday! He obviously has great plans for you all!
May you be wrapped in His arms of peace and life, drawing strength from the beating of His heart. May your lips speak confidence and joy, knowing His GREAT love for you and the assurance of His control. May you know His delight in you and hear the song He sings over you.
"The Lord your God is with you all the time.
He is a powerful and mighty warrior who saves you.
When he thinks of you He exults in festive pleasure and with great delight.
At other times He becomes quiet as He reflects on His deep affection for you.
He celebrates who you are with joyful singing."
Zephaniah 3:17 paraphrase, Sam Storms "The Singing God"

With a God like that, anything is possible!
May God's kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven!
God BLESS you! eileen from Olympia WA

To Luke's Family,
The news about Luke has reached the country of Kuwait where I am deployed for Operation Iraqi Freedom. I will have his name added to the prayer list at church.

Each one of you are in our thoughts and prayers. Please know that the incredible prayer circle continues to expand around the world, through friends and family here in the 50 states, their churches, neighbors, work colleagues, to the World Prayer Team (, to soldiers in Iraq and Kuwait, and all the people that these people know. We are all working together with you to encourage God to continue his work in Luke and each of you. Prayer works!

Gordie, Sue and Family:

Dear friends, when we heard of the accident and that Luke may have been lost to all of us in this physical world, our family felt led to pray for his total and complete restoration. We serve the God who created the universe and who knitted Luke together in his mother's womb. When we received confirmation that Luke was breathing, we praised and thanked God for his goodness, and continue to do so. I have had a song playing in my head since that moment. We sang it at church last Wednesday, and again on Sunday. I don't remember all of the words, but here is what I remember and hear in my heart:

"The eyes of the blind will be opened,
The ears of the deaf will hear,
The voice of the mute will shout with Joy,
and those who are lame will leap like deer...

We will see the Glory of the Lord, We will see the Glory of the Lord."

Another line I remember is this...

"Trust in the Lord and do NOT fear."

We will continue to lift all of you up to our Lord and to trust that God will use this situation for good.

With much love to you all.

I am so happy for you and the family. I was worried about Sue since she is pregnant. As soon as Lori told me I went over and stayed with her for a long time. May God be with all of you until this is all over. We all need to keep on praying for a miracle.
