Finally, an update!

There has been a problem with posting to the blog since yesterday evening. I had posted an entry in the guestbook hoping to communicate with everyone. If you havent taken the time to sign the guest book, please do, it is at the bottom of each page.

Luke is still not able to maintain his airway and as a result he has developed pneumonia in the right lung which is the lung that was partially collasped. Because of the Pneumonia, it was decided to put him back on the ventilator with the breathing tube, this was done this morning. Also, it was decided to insert a feeding tube to give him nutrients and this operation was performed this morning. Later this week they will perform a tracheostomy, this will allow him to breath without the need to maintain his own airway. The doctor thinks we may be able to take Luke home in about 2 weeks.

Thank you for your prayers they are making a difference. A praise and another request. A couple Jodie and Lyle stopped by today to encourage us. They had never meet us, and just found out about Luke yesterday. They have a little boy that drowned and was in a similar situation to Luke and they came and encouraged us to not loose hope. We will stand firm.

My request, last night my heart was very heavy and I was very bummed that I could not blog my request. My new friend (3 week old) Emily had open heart surgery a week ago and last night I saw her father and asked how she was doing and he told me that she would be having open heart surgery again this morning at 7:00am. The surgery is over and she is in her room again. Please pray for little Emily that she would recover and that her family would be encouraged.

Love Gordy, Sue, Daniel, Amy, Natalie, Isaiah, Ezekiel and Luke.

God Bless You and thank you for the update. I am going to do what someone had suggested in your guestbook and made sense to me. I am going to start THANKING God for the miracle when I pray, not only for the miracles we have seen but for the ones we have yet to see. For those of you who don't read the guest book, she said it is like there is someone standing next to you holding a present in their hand for you. If you just kept asking for the present over and over it would seem odd because the normal reaction is to take the gift and say Thank You. I'm sure that was paraprasing more than I intended, she was very well spoken, and I mean no disrespect. That is what I am doing....Thank You God for the gift you are giving Luke and his family. Thank You for the healing.

Dear Searles Family,
Gee, I didn't realize how important checking on Luke had become to us until the blog was "down" today. I am so thankful for the technology that keeps us informed and praying! Also for the technology and medical procedures that are meeting Luke's needs. May God's sustaining power continue to breathe hope into your family even as Luke receives life-giving breath from the machines. We love your family and are praying for you. If there's anything you need - call us.

Gordy, it is so good to see the update. I searched their site until I found out that there was a problem and it wasn't my computer. I will add Emily to my prayers. I praise God for what I have seen in you. You are truly a man of God. I am thanking God for what He has done, what He is doing, and what He will do. I love you, and thanks for allowing God to touch me through you. ~ Bob Hart

It's good to hear from you again. I just checked the Blogger Status blog and here is the official info:
http://status.blogger.com/

The road seems long but two weeks will pass quickly. I am amazed at the number of people who may not comment here, but visit often. There are many issues to distract us but Luke's story reminds us that we can make a difference.

The post I wrote about stats for your site is showing at Firemind now. I will write another tonight.

Hi Luke, Every time I check my computer I find more people talking about you. Today there was a note from Australia! I don't think it was from a kangaroo though.
You be strong for your mom and dad okay.

We also have Lukes picture saved to our background on our computer here at home so we can continually be praying for him when ever we walk into this room.
Thanks for the updates,I am amazed when ever I look at the counter at the end of the page! nearly 6,000 now!

Priase the Lord we can communicate again! I came down stairs early this morning hoping to get an up-date. As I sat down at the computer I noticed smudges on the screen. It took me a little while to figure out what it was ...I've been laying my hands on Lukes picture with Sue and the one of him with his Teddies as I pray!! I was feeling so helpless and wished that I could DO something for you all and the Lord showed me that I was doing exactly what was being asked of me. I tend to be a Martha and He's trying to teach me to be a Mary. Thanks Lord. I work in an elementary school and have a picture of Gordy,Sue,Luke, and Deedo on my desk and a big mouth. I tell everyone about Luke and your family. I told the mail man and he said he'd spread the word too. God can use us just as we are!The teachers and staff come and ask me often, "How's Luke today?" I couldn't give them new news today but tomorrow I can! Our God is amazing! Luke you have broken down barriers that you never knew existed. We love you all,Jeff,Sue, Zach, and Seth

Your Prayer request came to me by way of our prayer brothers and sisters at work. Father, In Jesus Name I command healing into Luke's lungs and also for Emily. Thankyou for posting. It is the way we should tap God's resources in today's world.
God Bless your faith in Jesus healing power.

thank you for update! We have been praying hard here in NJ. I don't know if anyone has suggested this yet, but, perhaps someone can keep a file of this blog printed out, for Luke to read someday. It may be alot to print, but how wonderful it would be for him to see the faith his parents had and the awesome support from around the world.

I am so glad you were finally able to post! I checked every 15 minutes for the longest time, and started to worry, then when I could not post to my Katy's blog, I realized it must be a server prob! That's what happens when we worry over things we cannot control! It profits nothing!

These two weeks will fly by, and before you know it, Luke will be back to his usual self. Continue thanking God for the healing that IS taking place, for continued peace over the family, and His grace on us all.

I know prayers are offered up on the hour every hour all around the world. Luke is one very blessed little fellow! He has an entire planet loving him! I had several people email me today asking if I had heard anything because there had been no post. Luke has brought together people of all faiths, walks of life, races, countries---unites as one seeking God's favor. What a blessing Luke has been in our lives!

Love in Christ,

Gordy...oh my gosh...I have been totally ungrouped not being able to hear from you and all the prayer warriors who have come here on their knees. Thank you so much for all you are doing. Wow, two weeks, that will go by so fast and then you can have Luke at home. How wonderful indeed. You are so blessed Luke to be able to go home with Mommy, Daddy and your brothers and sisters. How great it will be for you to sleep in your own bed with all your Teddy's. I am praying for you my little friend and I know that God is with you and has you in his arms right now. I am also asking our God to heal and protect your Daddy's new friend, Emily. Lord God Almighty thank you for all you are doing in and through our little Luke. Thank you for sending your light to surround him. Lord, our hearts are full of graditude for Gordy and Sue, they are so faithful and strong in your love, a light for all of us. Father, wrap them in your arms, sing to them, continue to hold them close they (and us) need you so much. Lord God...we know we are nothing without you, nor can we do anything without your wisdom and guidance. Thank you Father for each other and for your son Jesus Christ. We live for him...HE IS THE AIR WE BREATHE.

Hi, My name is Su Jeoung. Kristen and Cam's friend. I was so shocked and sad to hear about your story. I am praying for Luke is recover quickly. I think he will recover because so many are praying. When I see the picture of Luke in the hospital I recall when my son was in the incubator with pre-mature birth-related problems. I believe God will protect and take care of you all. Hang in there and God bless you!

Gordy and Sue,

Our hearts and prayers continue to be with and for both of you and Luke. We can all take great comfort in knowing that God is keenly aware of and concerned about Luke and that he loves him with a love that passes all understanding. The very hairs of Luke's head are numbered and should one fall, God knows. Char reminded me recently of the following verse: "Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven." Even as I write this and you read it, Luke's angel is beholding the face our our heavenly father. We continue to pray, to trust, to thank... We love you,

Randy and Char

Sweet Luke, So Gald that Daddy was able to post. I was asked about 20 times yesterday....Do we know anything about Luke? We were very glad to see your Daddys post! You are in our prayers still each hour if not more. May God give you and your sweet family all that they need. You are such a blessed boy! My heart is so full of wonder as I think of all that Jesus is doing and going to in you life. You have a day of rest and strength as you allow your body to be healed by Jesus! Gordy and family--I received a call from Pammy yesterday afternoon telling me of Luke's accident. You are in my thoughts and prayers constantly. I have also asked that you be put on the prayer chain at my church. The power of prayer does miraculous things. God bless all of you.
