Luke needs another miracle

Friends, I wish the news was good, but its not. The doctor talked with us and let us know that Luke's left lung has collapsed and is in danger of developing pneumonia. They performed a CT scan and there is evidence of brain damage. The doctor told us that there is nothing that medically can be done for Luke and the only hope for him now is divine intervention.

As his father, I will contend for Luke's complete healing until either he is healed, I stop breathing or he stops breathing. That said, I am asking that you would join me and fast and pray for the next 24 hours and see what God will do. And while I am fighting for my son in the spirit, I also know that God is sovereign and that Luke is in his hands, it all comes down to God's sovereign will for a little boy named Luke that has touched so many, so deeply. I don't ask you to do this just out of religious ritual, I truly believe that God is able to heal, if we will seek him with all our hearts. I would ask that we as the body of Christ would spend focused prayer on behalf of Luke, in particular, pray hard and fast at the top of each hour for Luke from now until the end of Tuesday (9/7).

Luke 1:37 "For with God nothing will be impossible."

Father, I now place Luke into your hands and ask that you would divinely intervene and heal his little body of all the damage, that your name might be known and that you would receive glory. Your word says that by your stripes we are healed and Lord I ask that your Holy Spirit would enter his body and completely heal him. I pray this in the wonderful name of Jesus Christ my Lord and my Savior.

I wanted to let you know that we (Luke's Family) just gathered for the past hour in Luke's room. We started by joining hands and in a prayer cirecle around his bed and prayed the prayer of faith after annointing him with oil. The circle represents two things, first it does not end, it is eternal, representing that we as a family have an eternal hope. Second the circle represents the greater prayer circle that is represented by each of you that is praying in this greater circle. We then spent the rest of the hour singing songs of faith to our Lord in worship. God is good and we trust our little Luke completely to him. Luke had a good hour of rest as we sang songs all around him. Take heart and be of good courage for the Lord thy God is with you. Stand firm and watch the hand of the Lord. I love all of you so very much.

Gordy and Family...I have been sitting here waiting until the big hand is straight up so I can pray with everyone...it is so much comfort to pray with someone else...when two or more are gathered in his name, he will hear us...I am crying out to him, His answer is....HERE I AM...Lord God, I praise your name. You are so mighty...O Lord, God of my salvation, I have cried out day and night before You. Let my prayer come before You; Incline Your ear to my cry.....I am so weak I need your strength, your breath, your grace so that I may continue this vigil for Luke and his family. Hear our cries Lord we call to you in humility and obedience. We know you are holding Luke in your arms and thank you for that...Lord God, bring peace and comfort to Luke's loving family...Though the blood of your son we belive in your miraculous healing power. Thank you Lord, thank you....

Psalm 23
The LORD the Shepherd of His People

A Psalm of David.
1 The LORD is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
3 He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name's sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the LORD
Forever.

This verse came to mind.

Daniel 3
16 Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to the king, "O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. 17 If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and he will rescue us from your hand, O king. 18 But even if he does not, we want you to know, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up."

Our God is able. We will pray for His will in this. NO MATTER what the outcome, God is good, He is sovereign. We will resist the enemy.

Gordy & Sue,
We have been out of town and have recently heard of the tragic happening that took place last week. We are sooo sorry, and our family has been praying for little Luke since we heard of the news. As parents our hearts break for what you are having to face. You have done a fabulous job creating this connection with those who care and love you. I am sure people feel as if they are right there with you in Luke's room (especially with the photos)waiting for every answer to all the prayer. We will be meeting with our church staff in the morning and will join you in prayer for your precious child. That little boy has two strong Christian parents so it is in his genes to be a fighter. We love you all and will be agreeing with you for a miracle of healing.

To the Searles Family:
As I was reading this update Psalm 34:15 - 18 came to my mind as it has been a comfort to me during a recent trial of my own. It reads, "The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their cry. The face of the Lord is against those who do evil To cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, And delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite heart." I know the eyes of the Lord are on your family and little Luke through the process of his healing and as an obvious example He is hearing the cries of His children through what we have seen through this blog. I am amazed sometimes at the wonderful power of the prayers of God's people but "with God nothing is impossible." I pray for God's peace and comfort to reign in your hearts over this next day and will continue to pray for Luke's healing. May Grace be with you.
God Bless,

PS- FOR KEITH:
Stand tall and proud in your faith! God loves you, and knows intimately every hair on your head, whether you know Bible verses or not. That's why He gave us the Bible! He hears you too, regardless of how you speak to Him. I always feel clumsy when I pray, especially out loud. The words seem to flow so much more smoothly for others. But I know that He hears me! You can pray JUST AS WELL as ANYONE! I hope that LUKE gives you the inspiration to practice- out loud! God knows your heart, and He will guide you. Be proud of who He has made you, and be proud of that verse in your wallet!

I write from Ireland and have wept as I read about your fabulous Luke. He is SO BEAUTIFUL! We too have a son a year older and we cannot imagine what you are all going through right now. We have an old saying/proverb here in Ireland:
"where there is life, there is hope". Please remember this and whisper to Luke to hold on tight to life. We will pray for Luke, and for you Mom, Dad and all of Luke's siblings. Please God you will find the strength to get through these tough times. In the words of a hymn that I love, "Be not afraid, I go before you always". Trust in God and you will have your miracle. Our thoughts are with you all. Please give Luke a kiss from Ireland!

What a privilege it is to go with this band of believers to the throne room of our Lord on behalf of little Luke and his family.
Psalm 40
I waited patiently for the Lord;
he turned to me and heard my cry.
He lifted me out of the slimy pit,
out of the mud and mire;
he set my feet on a rock
and gave me a firm place to stand.
He put a new song in my mouth,
a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear
and put their trust in the Lord.

We will continue to pray with you! The Olsons

Good morning Luke, Gordy, Sue and family,
Our God is an awesome God! As I was praying this morning for you the Lord brought back to my memory a song that I had heard way back in the late 70's/early 80's that I hadn't thought of for years. I think it's only the chorus but I feel it's for all of you. It's called "God Can Do It Again" and goes like this:

God can do it again, and again, and again.
He's the same God today as He always has been.
Yesterday and today and forever the same
There's no reason to doubt -
God can do it again.

The God that knit Luke together in Sue's womb is able to knit him together in perfect order. There is nothing to hard for Him! Standing with you today in prayer and believing that God is able to do it again!!!

THE LIGHT OF GOD’S LOVE
(Charles Stanley—Seeking His Face)

SCRIPTURE READING: PSALM 27

KEY VERSE: PSALM 27:1

The LORD is my light and my salvation;

Whom shall I fear?

The LORD is the strength of my life;

Of whom shall I be afraid?

The Tybee lighthouse near Savannah, Georgia, has seen many storms. Hurricane-force winds have threatened its existence. Gale-driven rains have bludgeoned its walls, and yet it survives. Even when floodwaters cover the roadway that leads out to the island on which it stands, the lighthouse remains a beacon of hope.

David declared, “The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the defense of my life; whom shall I dread? ...Though a host encamp against me, my heart will not fear; Though war arise against me, in spite of this I shall be confident. One thing I have asked from the LORD, that I shall seek; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to mediate in His temple. For in the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle; in the secret place of His tent He will hide me; He will lift me up on a rock” (Ps. 27:1, 3-5 NASB)

More than once, King David found himself in a hopeless situation. He would have given up were it not for his hope in God. Instead of becoming angry and bitter, he chose to cling to the goodness of God even in harrowing circumstances. The storms of life will drive you to the light of God’s love and care, or they will force you to retreat in sorrow.

Father, let the storms of life drive me to the light of Your love and care. I don’t want to retreat in sorrow.

Hebrews 11:1 (TLB) reads:
"What is faith? It is the confident assurance that something we want is going to happen. It is the certainty that what we hope for is waiting for us, even though we cannot see it up ahead."

Our family is trusting the Lord, the great physician, to restore Luke completely. He has a plan, we cannot see it, but He knows the plans He has for Luke, and will reveal it in His time.

The Lord is the Great Physician and I CHOOSE TO BELIEVE THE REPORT OF THE LORD!!! not the report of man.
What an army God has brought forth for Luke.

We continue to lift Luke and your family up before our God and Father, who is always faithful. Father, we lift Luke and his family up before you as our voices join across the world to bring our petition before you. Breathe your "breath of life" into Lukes lungs and re-knit the pathways, nerves and cells within his body. Give us the courage and strength of spirit to be like Jacob of old, and "not let go" until you bring to completion the good work that you have begun in Luke and bless him. The Ahos

Bless the Lord,O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all my sins and HEALS ALL MY DISEASES; who redeemed my life from the pit and crowns me with love and compassion; who satisfies my desires with good things, that my youth be renewed like an eagle!
BLESS THE LORD OH MY SOUL

Dear Gordy, Sue and Children,
We are with you in heart and spirit.....Sunday morning our pastor shared a message from 2 Chronicles, Chapter 3; verse 15 which says "Be not afraid nor dismayed....for the battle is not yours but God's." And in verse 17 of the same Chapter "You shall not need to fight in this battle; set yourselves, stand you still....for the Lord will be with you." This message was very timely....we are fasting & praying with you and love each of you so very much. Auntie and Uncle (The folks at Yelm Prairie Christian Center are praying with us)! We send a hug for baby Luke!

Gordy and Sue,

My two little ones and I continue to lift you and your family up in prayer. My four year old prayed for "God to please touch Luke's little body." I felt shivers as I realized that God regards the prayers of all of His children as precious, and how much more the prayers of these little ones who can sometimes know better than we such an amazing trust in our God. I am confident of God's great and continuing healing for Luke...praying for you not to loose heart. In Christ,Kim in Spanaway, WA

Baby Luke's Family

I am a college student and I just wanted to let you know that I am praying for your strength and Luke's recovery. Remember whenever things start seeming hopeless that the Lord has the power to make all things possible. You are in my prayers and please keep us posted on Luke's progress.
