Hello Searles family! My Mom told me Tuesday about what happened to Luke. And I'm believing for a miracle! I have also put Luke on the prayer chain at our church & last night at youth service I asked my students to pray. So you can add the adults & youth of Lighthouse Assembly (in Coarsegold, CA) to your prayer network list.

Here's a scripture God gave me a while ago for myself, and I want to share it with Luke.

Isaiah 43.1-2, "But now, oh Israel - the chosen people, hear what the Lord who created you says: 'Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine. When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown!'"

And as I was praying for Luke and you (Mr. & Mrs. Searles and family) the following scripture came to mind for you.

James 1.2-4, "Dear brothers and sisters, whenever trouble comes your way, let it be an opportunity for joy. For when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be strong in character and ready for anything."

I love you guys & you are all in our prayers.

We are praying constantly for little Luke. Your whole family is in our thoughts and prayers for that matter. Many scriptures have come to mind to us throughout this ordeal, but we have been drawn to the ones which highlight the power of prayer. One in particular comes from James, the fourth chapter: "And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well: the Lord will raise him up. . . . The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective."

Hi Gordy,

As we were praying for Luke last night at church, the Lord gave me a picture. I saw little Luke laying there, as angels surrounded him, and the Lord was working on him. I could see him "knitting" him back together, a little at at time. The Lord said to be patient, that the healing may not be all at once, but God as our Great Surgeon is restoring Luke.

Reading your updates, i can see that happening. It may be baby steps, but God is performing an awesome miracle through Luke!

We are continually praying for all of you. Sue and Gordy, we are praying for strength and peace for you both, along with the rest of the family.

We are praying for Luke throughout the day and night! We have never met but are friends of Tom Nicodemus' as well as all of us being brothers and sisters in Christ. We live in Banks Oregon and are part of the Evergreen Christian Center family. We pray for all of you and your family and that you remain strong and continue vigilant prayer.

God created us from dust and Luke is part of that miracle. Jesus, via the power of He who sent Him, can heal us all and Luke is under His wing of love. Through Jesus all things are possible, there is no child too sick or too far beyond His reach.

Jesus we pray that You restore Luke as our Father made him.

If Luke could pray for himself right now, perhaps he might pray...
Heal me, O Lord and I shall be healed; save me,
and I shall be saved; for thou art my praise.
Jeremiah 17:14

Lord Jesus, Luke is completely in your hands and we ask that you make him whole once again.

In your word you promise:
Whatever you ask for in Prayer with faith you will receive.
Matthew 21:22
and we are requesting just that, let Luke be healed by your power and grace!

Amen,

Gordon and Family,

Prayers continue from Mary, in Minnetonka, suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota. After Craig H. told us of Luke on Monday evening, I checked in Tuesday morning, hopeful that you might have found some time to post a short entry to share an update, during what must be an emotionally exhausting situation. I, as others, have found that thankfully you did have news, and it was good news. The confirmation of how quickly God answers prayers was awe inspiring for me that morning. Now I find myself checking in periodically and am every time joyous on the continued developments.

I think this journal (web site) of yours has proven to be just as much a spiritual journey for supporting you, Luke's mom, your children and I'm sure, other family members, who if not able to be physically with you are definitely with you in prayer, along with the many others, known and not known by you. Reading through this journal's prayerful entries from your wide cast of close friends, neighbors, work colleagues, and countless others in your community/church and around the world, has strengthen my faith.

I thank you for this. Your notes are full of devotion, a positive attitude, real kindness and love. I'm glad you are willing and able to share your strong and sensitive side. These traits are clearly due to the love and support you receive from your wife, children and faith each day. It is in giving that we receive and you clearly are a giver. May Luke now receive all the prayers and watchful eyes of our angels today, as your circle of support grows from as nearby as your medical team to as far as friends who are with you in spirit.

Luke must be feeling the Love being sent to him from all. Wake up soon little one, and show us another one of your beautiful smiles!

Thank you, too, for being such a blessing in your time of distress: many people who are not Christians will read your blog and learn about our wonderful Lord. Hi Sue, Gordie and Family; Mike and Mary Hurtado have called us into prayer for Luke. It is totally amazing what God has done & we are encouraged by all God has and is doing. After you have gone through the fires, God will make you nourishment for other people. It looks like your doing that already. We are standing with you and holding your hands up. God Bless You.

May Our Lord hold little Luke in the palm of His hand and warm him with His loving breath. God takes no one before his time, and God's timing is perfect. I pray that Luke will not be taken before his time, and that he will have a full and beautiful life ahead, here, with us.
May God's miracle in returning Luke to you bring many who are doubtful or who are nonbelievers, have no doubt in the miracle that they are witnessing...and that Luke, in his innocence, will bring many to Him.
May our Lord give you each great peace, and the understanding that His ways are not our ways.
God Bless you all~Angie, in Northern Virginia

The Robert Miller family is praying for Luke and his family from Denison, TX. We've traveled the "wait and see" road with a few childen ourselves in other circumstances. The scripture that has been my strength during those days of waiting is Isaiah 26:3-4 -

3. Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee: becuase he trusteth in Thee. 4. Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord JEHOVAH is everlasting strength.

I pray you will find that peace of the Lord that passes all understanding, and that your family will continue to be a light to all those He intends you to minister to through these circumstances. What a privilege to minister in your time of deep need.

Praying God's blessings on Luke, that all He desires to accomplish through Luke's life will be done, and will be evident to you and your wife.

Thanking Him with you for Jim the angel. Isn't He so good!

Our God is a healing God. I know that full well, as my son and I have both experienced these miracles. Not to mention the power of prayer! You do not know my family but I knew of yours. We used to attend Living Way, but have been stationed Fort Drum- New York, where little Luke has been placed on our pray chain here along with other churches that I have contact with. Your pray request spans to my husband over in Iraq at this moment as well. I also have four prayer warriors who would like me to pass on that they are continually praying for the entire family and as my 6 year old says "God please heal them all" God's peace be with you and your family, a peace that only He can give.

Luke, you are being healed by the Great Healer, rejoice in His presence! Be healed in the name of Jesus!

This too is occasion for great joy…

Joseph and Gina, trust that Jesus wants you to feel His joy and the joy He has planned for your wedding day! May everyone be refreshed anew by the Holy Spirit and JOY prevail as you start your lives together!

Lord Jesus, grant that Joseph and Gina may have a true understanding love for each other. Grant that they may both be filled with faith and trust. Give them the grace to live with each other in peace and harmony.
May Joseph and Gina always bear with one another’s weaknesses and grow from each other’s strengths. Help them to forgive one another’s failings and grant one another patience, kindness, cheerfulness and the spirit of placing the well-being of one another ahead of self.
May the love that brought Joseph and Gina together grow and mature with each passing year. Bring them both ever closer to You, Lord Jesus, through their love for each other. Let their wedding day be bathed in joy and love from Your Holy Spirit, their marriage be filled with Your grace and love and that their union bears fruit for Your Kingdom!
Amen.

Hello - We are Norm & Loni & our 10 blessings in Michigan. We are on the QF digest, and read about your son. Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

We can relate to you and the outpouring of prayers through a media such as this. Seven years ago one of our daughters had 2 open heart surgeries adn spent 10 weeks in ICU. I was also pregnant with our 8th child. It was unbelieveable how many people were praying for her. Several years ago we were at a homeschool convention and a young gal saw my name tag and asked me if I was Jessica's mom. She told me she had been praying for her. God is so good. The prayers upheld us ALL tremendously - and now we have such bittersweet memories, and a "book" of e-mails.

May you continue to know God's presence and peace.

Blessings~

God has put it upon my heart to remind us all to KEEP PRAYING for Luke! I was drawn to Psalm 40, written by David, it reminds us that doing God's will sometimes means waiting patiently and that as we wait, we can love God (praise, worship and prayer), serve others and tell others about him (witness). What a great opportunity to stand strong in our faith for Luke before all who watch.

I waited patienly for the Lord;
he turned to me and heard my cry.
He lifted me out of the slimy pit,
out of the mud and mire;
he set my feet on a rock
and gave me a firm place to stand.
He put a new song in my mouth,
a hymn of praise to our God.

Blessed is the man
who makes the Lord his trust,
who does not look to the proud,
to those who turn aside to false gods.

Many, O Lord my God, are the wonders you have done.
the things you planned for us, no one can recount to you; where I to speak and tell of them, they would be too many to declare...
...
I do not hide your righteousness in my heart;
I speak of your faithfulness and salvation.
I do not conceal your love and your truth from the great assembly...
...
Yet I am poor and needy;
may the Lord think of me.
You are my help and my deliverer;
O my God, do not delay...

Lord Jesus as we are only human we tend to be impatient as we wait upon your miracles. Help us, feed us, refresh our vitality and comfort us as we call upon you to restore Luke as the Father made him. Let us use this time to stand firmly upon You Lord Jesus and your holy word. Let Your miraculous healing of Luke be testament to Your Power, Grace and Love.

Amen!
